Marina FAQs:

What is the Abbey Marina?

  • The Abbey Marina was opened in 1963 and is the only protected marina on Lake Geneva. The marina has 407 moorings, the marina offers 6 transient slips for guest of the Abbey Resort.  Each mooring has electrical, storage locker, wireless internet access, water is located on all of the docks but not in each individual mooring. The club house offers showers, restroom, lounge area with fireplace and large screen TV, Outdoor swimming pool, and vending machines for snacks and cold drinks.  The marina is home to the Abbey Yacht Club which was formed in 1965 with over 75% of it’s members keep a boat moored at the marina.

What are the benefits of joining the Abbey Marina?

  • The Abbey Marina offers many amenities with the boat slips that include: Telephone/ Fax, Message Center, Private Dock Box, Discount at two local Resorts ( Lodge at Geneva Ridge and the Abbey Resort), Mail, Weather Information, Waste Collection, for the piers, Pump-out Service, Cable, Food Service, Water & Ice, Electrical, Fueling, Private Parking, & Security Service.

Is the Abbey Marina a “Clean Marina?”

  • We are not currently designated as a clean marina but we are working with the Wisconsin Clean Marina program and are voluntarily following the regulations to become a clean marina. This process is not open to inland marinas currently. Please look for updates and press release for when we do get the certification.

Do you have Wet Slips?

  • We do have 407 wet slips at our facility. 184 are privately owned. 223 are seasonal rentals and of those 223 seasonal slips 6 of them are transient guest slips.

What is the depth of the marina?

  • The harbor depth is six (6) feet on average.

Do you have Dry Storage?

  • We have in-season waver runner and trailer storage in the South Wall Lot that will hold up to 30 trailers. Please see the current rates tab.

Do you rent boats?

  • We currently do not rent boats from our facility.

What are the hours for the Abbey Marina?

  • Available for purchase at the harbor house or by the gas pier.

What do we do if there is an emergency after hours?

  • In case of an emergency we have a security service that is on from 9:00 pm – 7:00 am Daily. The Harbor House is staffed from 8:00 am – 9:00 pm Daily. If need be they will contact the Harbormaster.

Do you allow live a-boards?

  • Yes. People are allowed to live aboard their boats in season.

Do you offer new or used boat sales?

  • We do not offer new or used boat sales. We do have a binder and bulletin boards located in the Harbor House for “Members” to post information. Please look under Area Services for a list of boat dealers in the area.

Do you sell gas or diesel?

  • We sell 89 octane fuel. Please contact the Harbormaster for Diesel Fuel.

Do you rent boats?

  • We currently do not rent boats from our facility.

Do you sell bait?

  • No. We do not sell bait there are locations within walking distance for bait.

Do you have on-site pump-out service and how do I arrange for pump-out service?

  • We do have pump-out facilities. The cost is $5.00. To get a pump-out please pull up to the gas pier and one of the attendants will take care of you from there.

How far away is the beach?

  • The Fontana Beach is located right across the street please see the Harbormaster for beach passes.

Are there any beaches nearby that we can drop anchor and swim?

  • Big Foot Beach located on the East end of the lake is a great anchoring spot to go swimming or relax and watch the beautiful Geneva Sunsets.

Are there any restaurants on the water that we can get to?

  • There are many great restaurants around the area. You can find out great restaurant information from any of the marina attendants also there is information under Area Services?

Are there any fixed bridges in the area and if so, what is the height limit?

  • There is a fixed bridge that you must go under to access the lake it is a one-way bridge controlled by traffic lights. The height is 12’6”.
